Flipped Classroom vs. Theoretical Computer Science

Mili kolegovia, pozdravujem z ICWL2014 v Tallinne. Sedim na prezentacii Hansa Huttela (http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Wf7-agQAAAAJ&hl=en), o tom, ako aplikovali metodiku Flipped Classroom, pri ktorej sa vobec nepouzivaju klasicke prednasky, ale vo vysokej miere sa vyuziva samostudium a didakticke video, pricom osobne stretnutia so studentami sa vyuziju na prakticke riesenie problemov a diskusiu so studentami. Povzbudive je, ze to uspesne aplikovali na predmete silne teoreticko-informatickom predmete venovanom vypocitatelnosti a zlozitosti. Pre jednoduchost pripajam ich clanok, ktory si mozete stiahnut aj zo Springer Linku (ked to Springer konecne zverejni). Posielam vam to v kontexte nasich viacerych diskusii o tom, ako prednasky postupne stracaju svoju ucinnost, a studenti na ne chodia stale menej... KR Seminar: Igor Sedlar

Detaily: Igor Sedlar: Non-Monotonic Information Update: A Non-Classical Approach Abstract It is quite standard in contemporary AI to represent non-monotonic information up- date by means of some supra-classical consequence relation that does not satisfy the monotonicity property. However, this approach has a number of familiar alterna- tives. For example, contemporary dynamic epistemic logic treats updates somewhat more complexly as speciﬁc agent-based epistemic actions. Second, supra-classicality, whilst a feature often welcomed by conservative logicians, has been under attack by philosophers for rather a long time. There is even a large family of non-monotonic logics, known as substructural logics, which defy supra-classicality almost by deﬁni- tion. However, while these alternatives are appealing from an intuitive viewpoint, there are various technical obstacles that seem to prevent any serious attempts at a fruitful exchange of ideas between the ‘standard’ and ‘non-standard’ camps. This talk outlines a general framework for modelling non-monotonic update that aims at being acceptable by both camps. On the non-standard side, we build on substructural logics with a dynamic ‘update’ conjunction (better known as fusion) and extend them with epistemic operators.
